Abstract
The theme of this year's lecture, "Understanding Our Past to Change the Future," is one that we believe is vital for moving us forward with a clear commitment to driving out enduring institutional biases. Tisby's acclaimed book, The Color of Compromise: The Truth About the American Church's Complicity in Racism (2019), offers an important and timely challenge for our campus community to continue to engage SPU's history with honesty and critical awareness of our role in systemic racism and other exclusivities.
