The booklet was distributed in the early 1950s to help raise interest in the School of Recreational Leadership and to raise funds for a new gymnasium. The gym was named for famed Seattle sportswriter Royal Brougham and a letter from Brougham extolling the importance of recreational leadership is in the booklet. Also included are: information about the School of Recreational Leadership; a description and architect's drawing of the planned gym; and comments on the value of the new gym from notable citizens of Seattle.
