Description
A short presentation on how the Lewis & Clark College Aubrey R. Watzek Library Special Collections and Archives are working in collaboration with students and faculty to present large-‐scale exhibitions drawing from institutional resources, faculty scholarship and interdisciplinary student perspectives.
Discussion will include how the scope of projects, methodologies and participation contribute to the transformative process of exploring Special Collections as a liberal arts laboratory and how Special Collection’s staff can work as collaborators in humanistic scholarship promoting student achievement, critical thinking and lifelong learning skills. Key elements include exploratory research methods, assessment and curating, the didactic text, visual representation and the collaborative process.
