Description

Many descriptions of teaching with primary sources focus on hands-on use by undergraduates, who gain valuable skills by working with or even gathering primary sources in an institution-specific context. What opportunities emerge from large-scale collaborations that offer direct access to digital content, like the Digital Public Library of America, the Smithsonian’s SOVA site, or that come from mass digitization programs? The presentation will examine the new modes of teaching and research that emerge from these initiatives.
