Description
Hydrogen bonds are interactions conventionally described as X-H ---- X, in which X is N, O, or F. In our research, we examine the more unconventional hydrogen bond interactions of sulfur using vapor-phase infrared (IR) spectroscopy. When a hydrogen bond donor (i.e. X-H) complexes to a hydrogen bond acceptor (X), an increase in bond length is observable in an IR spectrum through the emergence of a lower energy absorption band.
