Description

This analysis examines the relationship between negative attitudes towards Blacks and support of police use of force using responses from the 2016 General Social Survey. The findings reveal a significant relationship between the belief that most Blacks lack motivation to escape poverty and two instances of police use of force, but since there are other factors which influence support of the use of force, this indicates that the relationship is more complex than originally perceived.
