Description

Initiatives to increase racial diversity within organizations do not always yield positive results. That is, a diverse organization without psychological safety for its members may actually impede team cohesiveness. Drawing on social and racial identity theories and research, we propose strategies that organizations can leverage to promote psychological safety for racially diverse organizations. For effective management of diversity in organizations, research and practical implications are also discussed.
