Description
Several studies have focused on masturbation and masturbatory habits of adolescents, defined as people between the ages of 11-18, and its relation to body satisfaction and self esteem as well as studies on the relationship between body satisfaction, body image and sexual satisfaction in partnered adults. Studies have shown that self esteem in adolescence is a predictor for levels of self esteem in adulthood and masturbatory practices can influence self esteem. If sexual satisfaction can also be linked self esteem, this could indicate that having healthy masturbatory practices in adolescence increases your sexual satisfaction in adulthood. This study aims to investigate the relationship between frequency of masturbation in adolescence and its impact on sexual satisfaction in partnered sex in adults. Using the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale to assess for sexual satisfaction and a survey on frequency of masturbation in adolescence, we hypothesize that those surveyed will show a relationship between frequency of masturbation and sexual satisfaction in partnered adults.
