Description
Based on past research, we have seen that religious commitment and church involvement are often positively correlated with social support. This study examines how college students’ religious commitment and social support - specifically from friends/peers - affect each other and why. This study uses the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS), Religious Commitment Inventory (RCI), and a few short, qualitative questions to predict both religious commitment and social support. Our data was collected through Prolific from undergraduate college students across the U.S. We conducted a simple linear regression analysis, a multiple regression analysis, and a thematic analysis to examine these associations.
