Description
This study describes the course of a 5-session group for first- and second-generation Latinx adolescents between the ages of 14-18 years old. Group activities will open space for introspective reflection, working with partners, and group sharing. Group sessions deepen participants' bi-cultural identity, teach problem solving skills normalize acculturative struggles common for this population. Participants take the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (Davis, 1983), the Bicultural Self-Efficacy Scale (David, Okazaki & Saw, 2009) and the Multigroup Ethnic Identity Measure (Phinney, 1992) as pre- and post-tests to measure changes in empathic attunement and bi-cultural identity.
