Description
This study examines the relationship between attachment and meaning-making in predicting continuing bonds (CB) expression among a sample of 237 bereaved adults. We hypothesize that a) attachment avoidance will negatively predict CB expression, b) meaning-making will mediate the association between attachment avoidance and CB expression, and c) attachment anxiety will moderate the association between attachment avoidance and CB expression. Our hope is that results may lend greater clarity to the role of CB expression in bereavement and how CB expression may be informed by an individual's level of attachment and ability to make sense of adverse experiences such as loss.
