This series contains summaries and deliverables from community engagement projects created by nursing students in the Seattle Pacific University undergraduate nursing program. Partnerships between human services agencies and the Lydia Green Nursing Program provide students with practical application of principles of leadership, management of care, health promotion, and quality improvement through involvement in a community and/or public health project. Students work in partnership with a community agency to identify an issue of concern related to a specific population served by that agency and to develop an evidence-based approach to address the issue. These projects exemplify the culmination of project work and include aspects addressing sustainability, cultural sensitivity, interprofessional care, and ethical practice. While these projects have been approved by the department, they do not necessarily represent the views of the community agencies involved.
